Paul has a background in law and strategic planning. He has practised as a barrister, primarily in planning and environmental law matters. His strategic planning work has focused upon sustainable development in regional and remote Australia, working regularly with Australia’s Indigenous peoples. Notable projects led by Paul recently include the development of a sustainability framework for the Kimberley, the redesign of an Indigenous SME lending program for Indigenous Business Australia and the establishment of an evaluation framework for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). He is the Managing Director of Real Sustainability, a national advisory business focused on supporting governments and businesses to design, implement and measure policies and practices that demonstrably balance economic, social, environmental and cultural considerations.
